My stay at Expedition Lodge was quite a mixed bag. The location was beautiful, but the building was undergoing construction, which made it less appealing. I found my room to be clean and somewhat updated, yet it still had some major issues that detracted from my overall experience.

Rooms
5.0
The room I got was clean but felt outdated with old features like popcorn ceilings and a missing ceiling tile in the bathroom. The bed was comfy, and I appreciated the cleanliness, but some repairs were clearly unfinished.
Service
5.0
The staff during my stay were friendly and tried to be helpful, but the lack of management presence was noticeable, especially when I had concerns.
Location
7.0
The lodge is in a stunning area, not too far from downtown Estes Park, but it’s a bit of a trek if you wanna walk. Being surrounded by nature makes up for that a bit.
Dining
5.0
I was disappointed to learn that there wasn’t a restaurant as advertised. Breakfast options were limited and strange, which put a damper on my mornings.
Facilities
5.0
The common areas and facilities need a lot of work. The pool area felt outdated, and cleanliness in some areas was concerning. While I did enjoy some snacks available for purchase, the overall condition needs improvement.

5.8/10

I had a mixed experience during my stay. The location near Rocky Mountain National Park was fantastic, making it easy to explore the area. However, I did encounter issues with the condition of the facilities and cleaning services. While the new general manager seems to be making positive changes, there’s still a long way to go regarding room maintenance and updates.

Rooms
6.0
My room had a nice balcony with a view, which was a highlight. However, parts of the interior felt outdated and worn.
Service
7.0
I found the staff attentive, but there were some hiccups with check-in during peak times. The new GM seemed very committed to improving guest experiences.
Location
9.0
The lodge is in a great spot, really close to Rocky Mountain National Park and not too far from downtown.
Dining
7.0
Breakfast was better than I anticipated, though I've read about some breakfast inconsistencies like late starts.
Facilities
5.0
The pool area was fine, but some amenities like an out-of-order hot tub were disappointing. The overall maintenance could use some work.

6.8/10

My stay at Expedition Lodge was quite mixed. The location is excellent, offering beautiful views, particularly of the nearby Rocky Mountain National Park. but the hotel itself was in need of serious updating. While some renovations were underway, many areas felt neglected and unclean, detracting from the overall experience.

Rooms
5.0
The room I stayed in had a comfortable bed and was clean, though some elements felt outdated and the decor was done on a budget. I was initially offered a different room than what I booked, and the balcony view I expected was not as advertised.
Service
6.0
The staff was friendly and accommodating, which helped balance some of the challenges I faced during my stay. However, communication regarding the room details could have been clearer.
Location
8.0
The location on the outskirts of Estes Park is ideal for accessing the national park, though it felt a bit isolated from downtown amenities. I enjoyed the scenic views, especially with the proximity to the lake.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast options were quite limited, and the quality varied significantly. Some mornings offered decent choices, while others felt like a letdown with cold items and minimal selections.
Facilities
5.0
The facility has potential, especially with a recently renovated saltwater pool that was enjoyable, but many areas, including hallways, felt cluttered and neglected. Improvements are needed across the board.

7.4/10

I had a mixed experience during my stay at Expedition Lodge in Estes Park. The location is fantastic, being right across from the lake and close to Rocky Mountain National Park, which I loved. However, the accommodations were a letdown, with issues like lack of hot water and poorly maintained hallways. Overall, it's a decent option if you're in a pinch, but I would recommend keeping expectations low.

Rooms
5.0
I appreciated the spaciousness of my room, but the cleanliness left a bit to be desired. There were signs of wear and tear, which impacted the overall comfort.
Service
5.0
Check-in was a hassle as no one was around when I arrived late. The staff seemed overwhelmed, and it took forever to get into my room. A more responsive front desk would have improved my experience tremendously.
Location
8.0
The location was a highlight for me, conveniently situated near the lake and not far from downtown Estes Park. It was perfect for reaching Rocky Mountain National Park quickly.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast wasn't great, and I found the food options lacking. I had to drive nearby for better offerings, which was disappointing.
Facilities
5.0
While there were some nice amenities like a pool, there were noticeable maintenance issues throughout the hotel, especially in the hallways and the bathroom finishes.

5.0/10

Overall, my experience at Expedition Lodge was quite disappointing. The location is great and close to downtown Estes Park, but everything else fell short. The cleanliness of the rooms and facilities left much to be desired, and I faced issues with billing that were frustrating. I can’t say it was worth the price I paid.

Rooms
5.0
I found my room to be somewhat renovated but still in need of significant improvements. The bed was comfortable, but I faced issues like broken curtain rods and a lack of necessary furniture. The views touted in the booking were misleading, as I ended up looking at a warehouse instead of the lake.
Service
5.0
The service was a mix of okay and frustrating. While the staff did eventually locate my wallet, I had to deal with unauthorized charges on my cards, which were very concerning. It felt like there was a lack of accountability.
Location
5.0
The location is one of the few positives. It’s conveniently close to downtown Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park, making it easy to explore the area.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast was far from enjoyable. The selection was limited and the quality was poor, with bland hot food and expired items at times. I found myself skipping it after the first day.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities seemed rundown and in need of maintenance. I noticed dirty hallways and a lack of attention to detail around the hotel, which was disheartening during my stay.
